Account book, 1774-1813.

Daybook, 1774-1813, kept by merchant Stephen Cornell of Scarsdale, New York, recording sales of a variety of goods, including indigo, sugar, rum, spices, pins, gloves, veal, beef, leather, hogs, molasses, etc., as well as payments for labor and various services. Included are accounts with members of the Cornell, Secor, Carpenter, Angevine, Saxton, Schureman, Haviland, and Coon families, as well as many other persons. Accounts with employees record expenses incurred and "black days." Cornell's employees included Josiah Height, Christopher Derick, and William Taylor.
